Your lash stylist will cover the specifics of your aftercare at the end of your appointment. These include avoiding water, steam, sweat, makeup, rubbing your eyes, and face-down sleeping for the first 48 hours because it’s important to let the bonding agent thoroughly dry. Don’t be alarmed if you find what appear to be a surprising number of eyelashes on your pillow the next morning. We naturally lose lashes daily, but they usually go undetected because they are short and thin. Beginning on day three, you’ll start using foaming lash cleanser to cleanse your lashes twice daily, and continue to avoid steam, waterproof cosmetics around your eyes, mechanical lash curlers, and excessive rubbing of your eyes. It’s that simple! Eyelash extensions that are properly maintained will last the length of the natural growth cycle of your eyelashes — roughly two to four weeks.
