STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- If you told Frank LoGiudice, owner of a digital marketing company, five years ago that he'd be in the beauty business, he would have had a good laugh.

"I could have seen myself opening a restaurant, or a daycare -- anything other than a beauty salon," said the lifelong Bay Terrace resident.

But soon after his company, the South Beach-based Charge Media Group, obtained an account for a fairly new franchise -- Amazing Lash Studio -- in 2016, he began to believe in the brand.

So much so, he picked up the marketing accounts for 35 of the franchises.

But then the entrepreneur in him kicked in, and he went a step further. On March 30, he and his wife, Darcie, opened New York City's first Amazing Lash Studio in New Springville's Heartland Shopping Center.

He views the franchise as the perfect complement to the beauty landscape of Staten Island.

"I never, ever thought I'd be in the beauty business, but I fell in love with the concept and brand. ...Then an opportunity opened up here in Staten Island," said LoGiudice.

"I like to say, 'We are the lash masters.' ...It feels good to give people an opportunity to be part of a new concept here on Staten Island," added LoGiudice, who credits his team of about 20 with helping make the operation come to fruition.

While the New Springville location is the first location for the brand in New York City, LoGiudice said he hopes to open two more locations on the Island, and there are 25 to 30 studios being opened by other franchisees across the city.

Clean, white lines with red accents make the 1,980-square-foot Staten Island studio immediately appealing to all who enter.

The upscale look carries through the hallways of the location, which is divided into 13 individual lash application suites. Here, clients lie down "and relax" while having their lash extensions applied via a special technique by a licensed aesthetician, said LoGiudice.

This concept was founded by entrepreneurs Jessica and Edward Le, who have been franchising since 2013.

Clients of Amazing Lash Studio Staten Island have the option of becoming members, thereby making maintenance of their lashes a routine occurrence.

"We are here to help educate, and prevent the fall out, and just maintain the beauty and look... A lot of nail salons do this, a lot of women are doing this out of their basement, but we are taking this to the next level," said LoGiudice.

"We allow you to customize your lashes to your shape and style. ...We do one-by-one lash extensions," he added, noting there are four lash styles.
