Hey Loves,

For the past few weeks I've been asking myself WHY I've waited so long to try lash extensions. I was invited to the Amazing Lash Studio in Short Hills NJ recently and I wanted to share my experience with you guys. If you're anything like me, you probably listened to all the horror stories and are extremely unsure about getting lash extensions. That's fine BUT just a little warning, after reading this- you may RUN to try them because I'M OBSESSED.

The Amazing Lash Studio is located about 40 minutes (without traffic) from where I'm in the city. I took the drive into NJ on Mother's Day and owner Ruth Abeshaus was wonderful with making my appointment and welcoming me into her studio. After getting my lashes done by Maria, I chatted with Ruth a bit and her story truly warmed my heart. For those of you who don't know, Amazing Lash Studio is a franchise. Meaning, anyone can own it. The concept is cool and easy. Why open a lash studio you ask? Well for Ruth it was more than just a little lash studio. Ruth was diagnosed about a year and a half ago with Stage Four Hodgkin's Disease. Prior to opening her studio she was a Jill of all trades. From working on Wall Street to teaching Yoga, Ruth did it all. A good friend of hers who worked at Elizabeth Arden took her to get her first set of extensions. They made a day of it, they went to Ruth's chemo treatment and got eyelash extensions. The doctors that day made comments to her about how "awake she looked" and she couldn't believe it. Nothing beats feeling beautiful and her extensions did that for her. Her husband and her found Amazing Lash Studio and dived into it (wipes tears).

I learned so much that day about Amazing Lash Studio and eyelash extensions in general. Maria, my lash stylist was great also. She made me feel so comfortable while she worked on my lashes. Not even half way through the experience, I kind of freaked. I'm not sure if I was just hot or the experience was so new, my body had a reaction to it. I started to sweat and had to get up. The reason I tell this small story is because Maria didn't make me feel as if I was on her time. She let me take a break and got back into it-checking in with me a few times. I couldn't ask for a better experience, honestly. I might be able to find a place closer to home to get extensions but they probably won't be affordable and as lovely as the people behind Amazing Lash Studio in Short Hills. Check out my before and after photos.

Here's some things I walked away with that day. I don't think my extensions would last as long as they did without them. I carry the lash coating and brush in my bag AT ALL TIMES.

The first thing is the Amazing Lash Studio Eyelash Foaming Cleanser. I used this gentle eyelash cleanser twice a day after the initial 48 hours of having the extensions done. I feel like this bottle is going to last me a life time.

The Lash Coating Gel is a must have. The gel is applied like mascara twice a week at it's driest. The way it was explained to me is that using the coating basically reactivates the glue. Which in turn, extends the life of your lashes.

What I love most about this particular Lash Brush is that the bristles are super soft. The brush was out of reach one day and I just used a spoolie that I had lying around. It immediately took one of my extensions with it when I swiped it. It made me so sad and I never brushed my lashes with anything else BUT this brush after that.

The selling point for me for the Amazing Lash Studio Mascara was the fact that the color matched the lash extensions. Every mascara has a different finish and you may never notice but some dry grayish. I made sure to walk out with this so that wouldn't happen.

Three full weeks with my extensions and I'm still get compliments on them and I'm STILL in love with them.

Amazing Lash Studio in Short Hills New Jersey is a must try! The lashes are made of synthetic Mink, none of the products are tested on animals and the glue is FDA surgical grade. You're never going to have "wig glue" used on your lashes. Let me tell you, so many people have told me how horrible their lashes were after trying extensions. These same people were getting their lashes done in their local nail salon. If you're going to try lash extensions for the first time, I would recommend going to a place that specializes in lashes. Like Amazing Lash Studio in Short Hills..... So? Did you start running yet?

You can find Amazing Lash Studio in Short Hills here and Thank You so much for having me!

Until next time.....
